Can you really spend a whole day drinking Champagne, exploring historic cellars, and discovering small French producers without worrying about transportation or organizing anything yourself? Well, that’s exactly what Laurent and I did on our recent Champagne day trip from Paris.
We visited four different places, enjoyed eight Champagne tastings, and learned more about Champagne than I ever expected. And even though I’ve been a Champagne lover for years, I came home with a completely different appreciation for what’s in my glass.
Being German, I was always more of a beer girl. Then I moved to France, slowly transitioned to wine, and in recent years, I’ve become quite the Champagne lover. Not exactly a difficult transition, is it?
Laurent and I had already visited the Champagne region once, back in early 2020, when we toured Veuve Clicquot, which happens to be our wedding Champagne. But apart from that visit, we hadn’t really explored the region.
So this October, we booked a small-group Champagne day trip from Paris, including several Champagne producers, a vineyard visit, lunch, and transportation.
Here’s exactly what our day looked like, what surprised me, what I thought could have been better, and why I think this tour is worth the money if you only have one day to explore Champagne.
